How it works

What the score measures

Search, collection filters, Google Shopping, Meta ads and AI shopping assistants all pick fashion by its attributes: category, colour, fabric, fit, neckline, sleeve length, occasion and the rest of the product data a brand keeps in Shopify.

The findability score, from 0 to 100, asks one question about a store's active products: from that data alone, how confidently could a system pick out each product from the rest of the catalog? Pieces that look identical in the data (the same dress in three listings, all “black, polyester”) pull the score down. Clear, consistent, specific attributes push it up.

The score accounts for catalog size, so a 50-product boutique and a 5,000-product store can be compared directly.

How stores get on the board

Two ways: run the free metafield check on a Shopify products export at sixfit.ai, or install the free Catalog Checkup app. Either way, a store is listed only if its owner opts in, anonymously or by name.

A store's name and domain are shown only when ownership is confirmed: through the Shopify app, or because the email used for the check is at the store's domain. Stores with fewer than 20 active products are scored but not ranked.

How to climb

Fill in the product attributes your customers filter and search by, use Shopify's product categories as specifically as they allow, and describe look-alike products by what actually sets them apart. Then run the check again.

Leaving the board

Change your choice in the Catalog Checkup app at any time, or uninstall it. For a listing made through the metafield check, email hello@sixfit.ai. Changes show within an hour.
